SPRING FIELD PEA

CULTIVAR DESCRIPTION

  • New cultivar of spring protein pea used for grain production.
  • Vegetation period 110-120 days.
  • Minimal lodging, stem height 50-70 cm, aphyllous leaf with white flowers.
  • Grain yield 4.5-5.5 t/ha with 25% of crude protein.
  • Minimum content of anti-nutritional components – thermal processing of grain not needed.
NS JUNIOR

SPRING FIELD PEA

CULTIVAR DESCRIPTION

  • Cultivar of spring pea intended for mixed use – fodder (forage) and grain.
  • Characterized by high genetic potential: green forage yield 30-50 t/ha and grain 2.5-5.0 t/ha.
  • Crude protein content in dry matter of forage is 19-21%, and 28% in grain.
  • The content of anti-nutritive matters in grain is minimal – heat treatment of grain is not required.
  • This is the most widely produced cultivar of spring pea.
NS MRAZ

WINTER FIELD PEA

CULTIVAR DESCRIPTION

  • NS Mraz is winter variety of dry protein pea.
  • Excellent overwintering, standing ability, pronounced earliness and maturing uniformity are it’s the main characteristics.
  • Optimal sowing time is during the first half of October in climate conditions of Serbia.
  • Seeding rate for NS Mraz should be 200 kg/ha.
  • Stems are 60 to 80 cm high.
  • Leaves are transformed into tendrils so plants can connect to each other and decrease stem lodging.
  • White flower, yellow cotyledons, TSW 180 g.
  • Content of crude proteins in NS Mraz grain is 23 to 25%.
  • Harvesting should be performed before harvest of winter cultivars of barley.
  • In Serbia the optimal harvest time is the first decade of June.
  • Admirable variety for organic cropping systems, with dry grain yields – up to 4.8 t/ha.
  • In conventional cropping systems NS Mraz can achieve 5-6 t/ha of grain yield.
